At the event, which started at 10.30 in the morning and ended at 10.30 in the evening, the audience had the pleasure to listen to 11 concerts, including the symphonic compositions, chamber music, vocal compositions, an opera and other well-known and not so well-known pieces of music of Mozart. Among the performing artists, we should mention János Rolla, Vilmos Szabadi, Gábor Takács Nagy, Barnabás Kelemen, János Kovács, Eszter Wierdl, András Vass, Ferenc Rados, and several artists of the Festival Orchestra, performing, this time, as soloists. Those who are interested in the operas of Mozart, or in certain, exciting phases of Mozart’s life-work, had the chance to watch movies and videos, in addition to listening to music. The closing event, and – most probably – the peak of the Mozart concert series was Mozart’s Requiem, which was presented by the Budapest Festival Orchestra in cooperation with the Saint Ephraim Male Choir and the Schola Cantorum Budapestiensis. The Requiem was conducted by Iván Fischer. The highly successful programme shall be organised again next year! For those who love marathons we announce that in 2013, the music of Bartók shall be the topic of the marathon concert series.
