GRAMOFON AWARD

Whilst the recording of Mahler's First Symphony is within reach of a Grammy Award, an earlier recording by Iván Fischer and the Budapest Festival Orchestra containing orchestral works by Igor Stravinsky (The Rite of Spring, The Firebird - Suite, Scherzo a la Russe, Tango no. 72) published by Channel Classics has won a Gramofon Award in the category of best classical music recording.
The editorial board and publisher of the Gramofon magazine gave out its awards on 10 December for the twelfth year in a row, including the award for the CD of the Festival Orchestra.
