The concerts held in the large hall of the renovated Academy of Music – feature a major Viennese classic along with pieces of music mostly from the Romantic period, which in terms of ambience and/or music history are very close or fit in well with the classic Viennese work. The conductor of these concerts is Gábor Takács-Nagy.
This series is a long-standing and integral part of the Festival Orchestra’s seasons. The conductors used to alternate at these concerts, but for a few years now it has always been the BFO’s first guest conductor, Gábor Takács-Nagy that has led these special evenings.
