The Dancing in the Square program was one of our most challenging and most uplifting projects, as we helped Roma and non-Roma children prepare for an exciting, fun and delicious dance production. In this 2015 video, they themselves describe what it meant to them to be performing at Heroes’ Square.
For half a decade, the BFO’s season-ending outdoor performances included the Dancing in the Square project, which involved hundreds of students from disadvantaged communities performing Bertalan Vári’s dance choreographies.
Roma and non-Roma children rehearsed, learned, made friends, and were excited as they delivered stunning performances in Heroes’ Square.
Our short film allows a glimpse behind the scenes. Watch the complete 2015 concert below!
