For the occasion, the vast hall was converted into an elegant restaurant, and cooks worked all day on the dishes of this special dinner. Almost a hundred guests – members of the board and supporters – accepted Iván Fischer and Stefan Englert’s invitation, and enjoyed not only culinary pleasures. The artists of the Festival Orchestra played the works of Haydn, Frigyes Hidas and Strauss between the courses, and Iván Fischer and Stefan Englert informed the guests about the major events of the new season over a great selection of wines. Each guest was also presented with a signed CD of Mahler’s Symphony No. 5, performed by the Budapest Festival Orchestra. You can find photos of the evening HERE. New supporters are always welcome!
