Born in 1960 in Berettyóújfalu (Eastern Hungary), he learned to play the trumpet first in his native town, later in the Music Secondary School of Debrecen. In 1981 he was admitted to the Liszt Music Academy of Budapest, where he learned with Zoltán Szűts. With fellow-students they formed the Anonymus Brass Quintet with which they were prize winners at several international competitions: 1982 Ancona, 1982 Barcs (Hungary), 1985 Narbonne. In 1983 he became member of the Hungaran State Symphony Orchestra. He has been a regular participant in productions of the Budapest Festival Orchestra since 2000.
