Tünde Szabóki

soprano

Tünde Szabóki obtained her piano teaching diploma at the Teacher Training Faculty of the Franz Liszt College, before attending the vocal faculty of the Music Academy for a further two years. From 1991 to 1997, she studied at the Graz College of Music and Performing Arts in Austria, where she visited the lieder, oratorio and opera faculties. In 1998 she graduated as a concert singer. Between 1994 and 2000 she won prizes at a host of international singing competitions.

In September 2000, she was appointed as vocal coach to the choir of the St Stephen's Cathedral. As a performing artist, her profile centres around oratorio in which she has a comprehensive repertoire.

She also appears occasionally in opera performances. In 1993-94 she sang Agathe from Weber's Die Freischutz in 20 performances in Graz and Prague. A CD was later released of the production. Tünde Szabóki is a regular guest at Nikolaus Harnoncourt's Styriarte Festival in Austria, where she sang in the world premiere of Schubert's opera Der Graf von Gleichen. In 1997, she was a soloist at the Jerusalem Bernstein Festival and in 2001, was a guest at the Musik-Biennale, the Salzburg Festival and the Lucerne Festival.
