David Moosmann

European Orchestra Academy members violin

David Moosmann was born in October 1999 and got his first violin studies with his dad. When David was only ten years old, he won the South Jutland Talent Competition and played as a soloist with the South Jutland Symphony Orchestra. From 2018 to 2022, David studied his Bachelor degree with Prof. Heime Müller at the „Musikhochschule Lübeck“. Since 2022, David is studying his Master degree with Prof. Thomas Reif at the „Universität Mozarteum Salzburg“. David got musical impulses by famous artists such as Stephan Picard, Eberhard Feltz, Noah Bendix-Balgley, Gerhard Schulz and Kolja Blacher. In March 2020, David won the first prize and a special prize from the European Union of Music Competitions for Youth (EMCY) at the Öresund Solist Competition. At the Jacob Gade Violin Competition in 2019, he won a first price and a special price for the best interpretation of a danish work. From 2022 until 2024, David was an academist in the „Bayerische Staatsoper“ and played two years in the renowned „Bayerisches Staatsorchester“. In March 2022 David was concertmaster of the „Junge Deutsche Philharmonie“ and played with the great cellist Nicolas Altstaedt in the „Elbphilharmonie“ and the „Berliner Philharmonie". From October 2024 on, David will be a member of the European Academy of the Budapest Festival Orchestra. Since march 2021, David plays on a violin from Jacobus Horil built in 1759, a violin on loan from a generous sponsor.
