For Edina Gyenes and her family, the cardboard chairs from the BFO’s outdoor concerts serve as pieces of furniture at home.
Edina Gyenes has been able to pick up a cardboard chair every time, at our concerts in Heroes’ Square. She has taken each one home, where they started a new life in her household. Her daughters use them to sit on when drawing or playing with clay – they’re just the right height for reaching the table. When we’re getting ready for the Cocoa Concert, the older one picks out her prettiest dress, and asks to have her hair combed while sitting on the cardboard chair. Because these are special occasions, she also gets a little kids’ make-up on her face to be all fancy.
