Performances in Germany

The last – two-day – tour of the season starts in Ingolstadt in Germany on 12 July and finishes on 13 July in Bad Kissingen.
Audi has organised its own festival in Ingolstadt since 1990 called Summer Concerts. Each summer the audience in Ingolstadt is enthralled by world-class artists such as Anne-Sophie Mutter, Sir Simon Rattle or the Vienna Philharmonic. The motto of this year's festival is "For Eternity". Alongside famous artists the directors are placing great emphasis this year on presenting the stars of tomorrow: Igor Levit, the young Russian pianist who recently won the "BBC New Generation Artist" award, is the soloist of the Budapest Festival Orchestra concert. Between 21 June and 22 July Bad Kissingen is in celebratory mood. The motto of this year's festival is "Welcome England, Welcome America!". The Budapest Festival Orchestra will be playing works by Liszt, Bartók and Brahms at both venues. Tour programme: • Ferenc Liszt: Mephisto waltz No. 1 • Béla Bartók: Piano concerto No. 3, • Johannes Brahms: Symphony No. 2 (in D major), Conductor: Iván Fischer With: Igor Levit (piano)
