First Palace Concert Held at Gödöllő

The new series of "Palace Concerts" invites Festival Orchestra audencies every year to a different palace of Hungary. The first concert on April 10th was be held in the beautiful Grassalkovich Palace of Gödöllő.
The editor and leader of the programme, Zsolt Szefcsik had chosen for the programme lighter, divertimento-type pieces by Mieczyslaw Karlowitz, Leó Weiner and Josef Suk. The concert started with Karliwitz's String Serenade composed in 1897, followed by Leó Weiner's Divertimento for Strings No.2. After the intermission the audience could hear Josef Suk's Serenade in E-Flat Major composed in 1892.
