Wagner: Excerpts from Götterdämmerung is number 1 on the Specialist Classical Albums Top 20 list in the UK. The recording also earned a 10^th position on the prestigious Classical Artist Albums Top 40 list this week. The Budapest Festival Orchestra, one of the top 10 orchestras in the world is conducted by Iván Fischer on this Channel Classics CD. The recording was praised by the Guardian amongst others: “the result is a revelatory contribution to the bicentenary celebrations”. The guardians of these charts are the Official Charts Company, which is a joint venture between two key trade associations – the BPI (The British Recorded Music Industry) and ERA (Entertainment Retailers Association).
