When I was 11, my father took me to a rehearsal of the Budapest Festival Orchestra, where a tall man was at the helm. I was amazed by his drive and how he inspired the musicians to play at their best. It was Solti, rehearsing for one of his last concerts in Hungary. I immediately knew that this is what I wanted to do as a profession. By that time, I was already studying the flute and the violin, so I also started learning composition and later on, at 17, I couldn’t wait any more and I founded my own orchestra in Budapest that I ran for 3 years.
