Sándor Végh Competition - we have the winners!

The BFO's annual Sándor Végh Competition was held between December 9th and 11th in the rehearsal hall of the orchestra. The jury (music director Iván Fischer, oboist Lajos Lencsés, violinist György Pauk, conductor András Vass) has awarded four prizes to the following productions:
Ákos Ács (clarinet) - Ákos Pápai (bassethorn): Félix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy: Concert Piece in F minor, Op.113 Dávid Báll (piano): César Franck: Symphonic Variations for Piano and Orchestra, M46 István Kádár (violin): Benjamin Godard: Concerto Romantique, Op.35 János Pilz (violin): Antonio Vivaldi: Violin Concerto in D Major "Il Grosso Mogul", RV 208 The competition was announced for members of the BFO. Participants had to perform a concerto of their choice with piano accompanyment.  Winners receive, in addition to the prize, an invitation to perform their concerto with orchestra in the coming concert season of the BFO.
