OPENING UP TO THE NEXT GENERATIONS

New ensemble, series and webpage for contemporary music. In this new season the BFO is turning to the next generations. Achieving this objective is helped by the continuation of last year's Midnight Music series, which was a resounding success, and the first Contemporary Music evening, where the contemporary music ensemble of the Budapest Festival Orchestra conducted by Zoltán Rácz will make its debut performance.
This year's Budapest Mahler Festival started with a children's production, but this symbolic gesture concealed a serious purpose: the plan to open up even more to audiences of the future, children and young people. Achieving this objective is helped by the continuation of last year's Midnight Music series, which was a resounding success (Millenáris Theatre, 20 Sept., 11.30pm), and the first Contemporary Music evening (Millenáris Theatre, 20 Sept., 7.45pm), where the contemporary music ensemble of the Budapest Festival Orchestra conducted by Zoltán Rácz will make its debut performance. With this concert aimed principally at a young audience, one could say the BFO is showing itself in a new light, as it is online too where there is now a brand-new webpage for those interested in contemporary music.
