Violetta Eckhardt

Violetta Eckhardt was born in Hungary in 1969. From 1983, she studied at the Conservatory of Music in Győr. At the age of 18 she won the National Youth Violin Competition and she could continue her studies without an entrance examination at the prestigious Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, where her professors were Ferenc Halász, György Kurtág, András Mihály and Ferenc Rados. In 1992 she won first prize at the Zathureczky and Hubay Violin Competitions and in the same year she won a special award at the József Szigeti International Violin Competition. She has participated in master classes with Dénes Kovács, Isaac Stern, Ruggiero Ricci, György Pauk and Tibor Varga; she has performed at several radio and television recordings. Ms. Eckhardt is the concert master of the Budapest Festival Orchestra and a regular participant of the chamber music concerts of the BFO. She was one of the winners of the BFO's Sándor Végh Competition in 2009.
